Mouawad's Guinness World Records

September 11, 2019

No other jeweler in the world can rival Mouawad in the domain of Guinness World Records, with five spectacular accolades to its name. This extraordinary series of achievements began in 1990, when Mouawad scooped its first Guinness World Record for the Mouawad Splendor, certified as the most expensive single pear-shaped diamond in the world. This 101.84 carat diamond, which had been purchased by Mr. Robert Mouawad, was rated D-Internally Flawless and valued at US$12.76 million.

Spectacular gems is what unites all five of Mouawad’s Guinness World Records, yet each is distinct in its own way. In 2003, it was the turn of the Very Sexy Fantasy Bra to take the spotlight, when it was crowned the most expensive bra in the world, with a value of US$11 million. This creation was first unveiled in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show by model Heidi Klum in October 2003 in New York, USA. Featuring 2,809 exquisitely cut white diamonds, yellow-orange sapphires, rhodolites, and amethysts, the dazzling bra has a total weight of 2,200 carat.

In 2010, the Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond Purse took the world by storm as the most valuable handbag in the world, valued at US$3.8 million. This heart-shaped purse, handcrafted from 18-karat gold, incorporates 4,517 diamonds (105 yellow, 56 pink, and 4,356 colorless diamonds) with a total weight of 381.92 carat. Three years later, the Mouawad L’Incomparable Diamond Necklace attained the record for the most valuable necklace in the world at US$55 million. This stunning piece of jewelry features a magnificent flawless 407.48 carat yellow diamond suspended gracefully from a 229.52 carat white diamond necklace intertwined by 18-karat rose gold branchlets.

The fifth Guinness World Record was awarded to the Mouawad Flower of Eternity Jewellery Coffer in 2016, as the most valuable jewellery box in the world valued at US$3.5 million. Inspired by Mouawad’s signature Flower of Eternity™ motif, the coffer was crafted using 18-karat gold and sterling silver, and features 542.39 carat of white and yellow diamonds, 293.24 carat of white and pink sapphires, 20.06 carat of rubies, and 1,799.75 carat of lapis lazuli.
