Miss Universe titleholders share their personal testimonies

In 2019, Mouawad formed a partnership with the Miss Universe Organization, a collaboration that saw the crafting and crowning of extraordinary moments: four bedazzling crowns worn by four praiseworthy winners. Now, in a new Mouawad video, the four titleholders reflect on their crowning moments and the meaning behind the crowns that they embody in their roles.

Taking inspiration from the values of the Miss Universe Organization and the universal themes of nature, strength, beauty, femininity, and community, Mouawad crafted the Mouawad Miss Universe Power of Unity Crown for the winner of Miss Universe 2019. In the video, titleholder Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi wears the Power of Unity crown as she looks back on her crowning moment and time spent as reigning Miss Universe, sharing her thoughts on the importance of the Power of Unity message during these unprecedented times. Zozbini Tunzi says, “Since being crowned with the Mouawad Miss Universe Power of Unity Crown, the importance of the message it carries became more and more apparent. 2020 was a year that truly tested humanity and made us realize that in times of crisis, we are stronger together than apart.”

For the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants, Mouawad crafted two crowns, both inspired by the the flag of the United States, featuring star motifs that symbolize the star quality within all women to create a brighter future. In the video, Miss USA 2020 Asya Branch, who was crowned with the Mouawad Miss USA Power of Positivity Crown, recalls her crowning moment as “undoubtedly the greatest” of her life and reflects on its meaning that “through positive change, we can generate the momentum from which to build a better future”. Miss Teen USA 2020 Ki’Ilani Arruda appears in the video wearing the Mouawad Miss Teen USA Power of Hope crown, and shares how she is greatly honored to carry the responsibility of inspiring hope in the hearts of others.

In an extension of its partnership with the Miss Universe Organization, Mouawad crafted the Mouawad Miss Universe Thailand 2020 Power of Authenticity Crown, which incorporates authentic motifs that celebrate Thailand’s noble heritage while carrying the message reflected in its title of the Power of Authenticity. In the new video, titleholder Amanda Obdam shares how she is inspired by the crown’s symbolism that reminds us to embrace what makes us unique in order to create an honest world in which we all thrive.

Four extraordinary crowns, four powerful messages of unity, positivity, hope and authenticity, and four exceptional women are celebrated in the video that invites us all to come together so we can become a force for good.
